Snow, snow and more snow

I think I was a little naive about the snow. Yeah, I knew it would come, and it would be cold, dark and wet, but I don't think anything could have prepared me for this:

I even thought that those silly snow shovels that all the stores were trying to sell were of no need to us. Certainly it won't snow that much. Boy was I wrong. We were treated to this during the week of Christmas. I am still in awe at the amount of snow we got. I kept wondering, "Will it ever stop?". It was during this week before Christmas that Will slid off the road into a big bank of snow, and also that same day I got stuck in a bank parking lot. Later in the week we built a huge snowman that lasted for a few days until the kids decided to take baseball bats to it.
Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful. But living in it day after day is certainly taking some getting used to. The kids love it! Well the older two do. Nani is still trying to decide if she likes it or not. And I don't mind being in it as long as I have my trusty snow boots and a nice warm jacket on.
Oh, yeah, here is a picture of our new ride. Well, really Will's new ride. We could never get his truck to pass emissions, so we found this sweet van that will hopefully last a long time. It's a 1991 Toyota Previa, and it was originally from Montana, so it knows how to behave in the cold. It even has a little plug that comes out of the front so that when it is extremely cold you can plug it in and it will warm up the engine so that you can start it. I am slightly jealous of Will because the passenger side door opens on the Previa, and it has and awesome heater that heats up in about 2 minutes. Our kids love it too, and are always bummed when I say we are taking the Nissan.

I am really looking forward to the next week with no snow in site. Maybe the 5 foot tall pile beside my driveway will begin to melt!
