Well that's what happened yesterday.
We decided to go on an adventure.
First was a ride into SLC on TRAX.
We love riding TRAX, minus all the werdies and night.
We got off at Temple Square, and went into the Church History Museum. We had never been in it before. It was great! I love seeing actual items that belonged to the prophets. Some day I would love to go back and actually read about all of the stuff there. But what little we were able to read about was a great testimony builder for me.
A replica of Angel Moroni .
This was a beautiful Navajo rug that was in the Museum.
The kids favorite part was the childrens area. It really was cool. They have so many hands on activities so the kids don't go bonkers in the museum.
A stained glass star that JR designed.

Staying on the straight and narrow path and holding to the rod.
Daddy had just as much fun as the kids.
So angelic.
Our little angel.
Little sheep puppets.

Phase 2
Phase 3
The final design of JR's temple.
This pulpit was inside the Museum of Church History. She was just practicing for her talk she game in Primary today.
This reminded me of my trailer. Squishy.
While walking across Temple Square, we walked by the Tabernacle. Just then a organ recital was beginning, so we went right in and enjoyed a few songs played by the organist. WOW! It is amazing. If you ever the chance to go, do it! I'm not musical by any means, but I can sure appreciate this beautiful music. Did the kids love it? No not really. Next time we will leave them at home.
We love to see the temple!
JR has on the coolest shirt ever. Click on it and see.
The kids love Temple Square, especially the water!
After temple square, we walked around downtown SLC and found a food court in the bottom of one of the big buildings. We had two choices: Mc Donalds, or Chang Chun. Much to my surprise Will wanted Chang Chun, and after trying some orange chicken the kids approved. This may seem to be no big deal, but this was really the first time ever that my kids have eaten Chinese. We all shared 3 different kinds of chicken and the kids loved it!
Then we got back on TRAX and went to the Clark Planetarium. We just walked around and checked out all the exhibits because it was totally free. Then it was back on TRAX and then onto FrontRunner for a ride all the way to Ogden. We walked around Ogden for a half hour or so, then on our way back we saw that the train was still there so we all took off running so we wouldn't miss it. Not a good idea. I think I have shin splints now. Ouch!
We got home late, but it was such a fun day! Gotta love Saturdays!

sounds like a ton of fun! Saturdays really ARE special days!
How fun! And I really like the shirt. I am assuming that the kids drew there own pictures. Oh and I am always paranoid about being audited but I guess now if it happens I will have someone that has gone through it and answer my questions. Good luck
What a fun Saturday!
What a great Saturday! Sounds like a really fun place to go...maybe we can fit it in sometime this fall. Maybe.
