Alpine Adventure

So it's been a while. Too long really. Yes, we are still alive. It's just that I have no patience with my new computer that doesn't like me to upload pics, and what's a blog post without pictures? But today it was nice to me. Nice computer. Nice computer.

Our latest adventure was earlier this afternoon. The kids were all smiles, and if you look closely you will see that Za Za is holding Gobstoppers in her nose. Nice.

Couldn't pass up a picture of a sign like this:

Will took this shot of a small field of poppies. The battery died before he got a picture of a few pink ones. I've never seen pink poppies before. Neato!

Waiting for us at the trail head parking lot was this cute little guy.

Nani had an eye for rocks along the trail. She found many that were
heart shaped, a few dinosaur ones.

Gotta love the beautiful white water.

I'm pretty sure Will had a mouthful of Gobstoppers. He He.

This may look easy, but it took Nani a few tries to get to the top, and then both girls found giant ants on top. The things I make my kids do for a picture. Sheesh!

And to top it all off, we say a big ole snake. Yikes! It just about stopped Will's heart, and made the girls cry.

It was tons of fun and best of all the kids were totally worn out! They slept the whole way home, and actually woke up without too many tears when we got home. After dinner they were making all kinds of jokes. The best of them all (thank you Animaniacs) was:

Good Idea: Climbing a mountain.

Bad Idea: Climbing a mountain lion.

That was a good joke. The world needs more common sense like that.
