Yesterday JR was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
It was such a delight when, to our surprise, Grandpa Price showed up! I had had a secret hope that he would, and he did! We had a special spirit filled day as JR was baptized by Will and then confirmed and given the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I have always enjoyed baptisms, but when it is one of your children being baptized, it is just wonderful.
After the baptism, we came back to our home and had some yummy food with our friends and family. We ate so much that when dinner time came, we were so stuffed that all we could eat were cheese crisps with Carolina's tortillas (thanks Dad!).
Last night JR and I were picking up legos before bed, and he asks me,"So Mom, did you cry today at my baptism?" He knows me well. I said, "Yes, I did." Then he says, "I know when you cried, Mom." I replied, "Oh, you do? Well when did I?" He says, "It was when I went under the water, wasn't it?" I said, "Yes, and also when you received the Holy Ghost." I thought it was funny that he knew exactly when I would get all teary eyed.
Today it was so fun to watch him. He comes into our room early in the morning, and asked if it was fast Sunday. We confirmed that it was, and much to our surprise he announced that he was fasting today, but only until lunch (we go to church at 2pm). We then asked him what he was fasting for, and he said he didn't know, so he thought a few minutes and decided to fast for his two cousins that have broken arms (they are sisters!). Then he started his fast and for the entire morning we noticed that he was making a concerted effort to be good. He got out his new scriptures and read a little, wrote in his journal, and did incredibly good during his fast. It was really heart warming to watch him and his desire to be good. Then in Sacrament meeting he bore his testimony! WOW! He has never done that before. I feel incredibly blessed to have JR in our family and to have been a part of his special day yesterday and today. I hope that there are many more to come. We love you so very much!

It was seriously an amazing baptism! I cried at those times, too, and he's not even my kid! :)
JR we are so excited for you! We wish we could have been there! You're right, it is different when it is your own child. It makes it that much more special! We thought about you guys while we were at the ward campout! Glad it was a wonderful day!
What a great kid! I loved the story about him fasting and being extra obedient. So sweet!
